Congratulations 2011-2012 Officers!
Last Tuesday evening at 8pm, polls opened in Lyons 409 for members of the Madrigal Singers to vote for the group’s officers for the 2011-2012 academic year. This year’s election embodied the fundamental definition of competition, as each candidate for both President and Administrative Chair ran unopposed, and each candidate for Treasurer and Social Coordinator faced only one opponent. However, at election time, one of the candidates for Treasurer and one for SC withdrew herself from the race, creating two more unopposed offices. This election will also be remembered for its international absentee voting, as current alternate members, Sara Schultz and Chris Asmar, cast their votes from France and Kuwait, respectively. After polls closed, ballots were counted by one member of the two-member election committee. Although a tight race, the results turned out as follows:
Katie Weintraub, President; Sara Schultz, Administrative Chair; Michael Lim, Treasurer; Jonathan Mott, Social Coordinator.
The new officers will officially take up their duties and titles on May 24th, 2011 at 12:00:00am EST. Again, congratulations to all!
